Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Aruun Doorstep ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you use our mobile application ("App"), our website ("Website") and our services. By creating an account or using our services, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: your full name, mobile phone number and date of birth, which we collect when you register, and your email address if you sign in with an email and password. We also create a secure 4-digit PIN, which is stored in encrypted form and is never readable by us or anyone else.
• Address information: the delivery addresses you save, including pin code, city, state, address lines, landmark and, where you choose to use "use current location" or the map picker, the latitude and longitude of the address.
• Order information: details of the products you order, quantities, prices, delivery slot, delivery date, special instructions and your order history.
• Device information: device type, operating system version and app version, to help us keep the App compatible, secure and up to date. We also generate a device identifier used to deliver push notifications.
• Usage information: how you interact with our App, including screens visited and features used, collected through analytics tools described in Section 5.
• Support information: the contents of any messages you send to our support team, including complaint or return-request details and any photos you upload to support a claim.
• Website contact form: when you use the contact form on our Website, we collect your name, phone number and the contents of your message so that we can respond to you. Submissions are stored securely and used only to handle your enquiry.

You can sign in with your Google account or with an email address and password. We do not require an email address to create an account, and we collect one only if you choose to sign in with email. We do not collect payment card or UPI credentials. Details of your payment method and payment status are recorded, but we never collect or store your card number, CVV or UPI PIN.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account, and to verify your identity when you sign in or recover your PIN.
• To process and deliver your orders, including sharing order details with our partner stores and delivery partners so that your order can be picked, packed and delivered.
• To check whether delivery is available to your pin code or location.
• To provide customer support and respond to your requests, including cancellations, returns and refunds.
• To send you order updates, delivery notifications and service-related messages.
• To detect, prevent and address fraud, misuse or technical issues.
• To improve our products, services and user experience.

3. Location Information

We collect your device location only when you explicitly choose to use it, for three purposes: (a) to auto-fill your delivery address and pin code when you save a new address, (b) to place a pin on the map when you pick a delivery location, and (c) to check whether your location falls within our delivery area. Location is never tracked in the background, never used for advertising, and you can deny location access at any time without being locked out of browsing or ordering.

4. Payments

We currently accept Cash on Delivery (COD) and Pay at Pickup. We do not process or store your card, UPI or bank details. When online payment methods are introduced, payment will be processed by a PCI-DSS-compliant payment gateway, and the gateway (not us) will handle your payment credentials. Refunds, where applicable, are described in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

5. Analytics & Push Notifications

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used (for example, screens visited and actions such as adding to cart or placing an order). This service processes aggregate usage events on our behalf. We also use Firebase Cloud Messaging to send you push notifications about your orders. To receive push notifications we store a secure device identifier; you can disable notifications at any time from your device settings. We do not use these tools for cross-app advertising or to sell your data.

6. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We may share your information only as needed to operate the service:

• with partner stores and delivery partners, to pick, pack and deliver your order;
• with service providers who help us operate our platform, such as Firebase (analytics and push notifications) and providers that host the service and validate delivery addresses;
• where required by law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, or to protect our legal rights.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal data, including encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls that restrict who can view your data, and secure storage of your credentials. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Where you delete your account (Section 9), your personal data is erased as described below. Certain transactional records — such as invoices and tax records that we are required to keep under applicable law, including Indian GST law — may be retained for the period required by law even after your account is closed.

9. Deleting Your Account & Data

You can delete your account and the personal data we hold about you at any time:

• In the App: go to Settings → Account → Delete Account, and confirm. Your account, profile, addresses, order history, wishlist, push notification data and other personal data will be permanently deleted. We may first verify that it is you by asking you to re-enter your PIN or phone number.
• By email: write to support@aruundoorstep.com from the email or with the phone number registered on your account, and our support team will process your request after verifying your identity.

Deletion is normally completed within 30 days of a verified request. Backups containing your data are purged within 90 days. Invoice and GST records required by law will be retained separately for the statutory period, but will no longer be linked to an active account. We may decline to delete data that we are legally required to keep.

10. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may access, correct or update your personal information at any time in the App, and you may request deletion of your data as described in Section 9. You may also choose not to share certain information, although this may limit your ability to use parts of the service (for example, ordering without a delivery address).

11. Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for users who are at least 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

12. Third-Party Links

Our App and Website may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

13. Data Storage & International Transfers

Our data is hosted on cloud servers operated by our service providers, which may be located in India or other countries. By using our services, you consent to the storage and processing of your information in these locations, subject to the safeguards described in this policy.

14. Grievance & Compliance

We comply with applicable Indian data protection law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (as applicable). If you have a complaint about how we handle your personal information, you may contact our grievance officer at support@aruundoorstep.com or write to us at the address in Section 16 below. We will respond to your complaint within the timeframe required by law.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, and material changes will be communicated to you as appropriate.
